Prayers for Healing and a Short-term Interim Executive Director

from MHF Board President, Laura Yoder

Dear MHF supporters,

I hope this message finds you all well!

Today I write with subdued emotions since I have to share that our Executive Director, Paul Leichty, is currently unable to work in his role due to serious illness. He had a heart attack on Dec. 8 and continues to be treated at a hospital in Pittsburgh. We are grateful for news that he is recovering, albeit slowly. Please pray for him and his wife Twila, as well as extended family, as they navigate difficult decisions, adjust to physical limitations, and heal.

The board is actively working together to continue planning and making arrangements for our annual gathering as well as taking care of other responsibilities Paul had. We want to hire a short-term interim Executive Director until Paul can return and ask you to please send in nominations to Or, if you are personally interested in serving in this half-time position, please contact me right away at so that I can share the job description with you.

Also, we invite you to give additional year-end monetary contributions to the organization! You can find the link for giving contributions here. We always need gifts to keep our scholarship and grant programs running well and to support the Executive Director and Administrative Assistant with appropriate salaries.

The Mennonite Health Journal blog and other website updates will likely be delayed in the coming months as we adjust to not having Paul at the helm. Thank you for your understanding.

Please use the email address for questions and general communications with MHF. Do not send messages to Paul’s personal email since we do not have access to that inbox. Read our website for further updates in the coming weeks. Thank you!

The Lord came down that we may have love,

Laura Yoder
